Get help in an emergency

Out of Hours Service

When the Practice is closed ring 7661 4255 and you will be connected to the Out of Hours Service, which is commissioned by Coventry Teaching Primary Care Trust.

Alternatively patients can go to the local Walk-In Centre at Coventry & Warwickshire Hospital, Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry, CV1 4FH, (open from 8am until 10pm, Mon-Sun) to see an experienced nurse for information, advice or treatment for minor illness and simple injuries.  Or call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47, which is a nurse-led telephone service offering confidential healthcare advice and information 24 hours a day or visit NHS Direct Online at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk.

NHS Direct

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed, please call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.  The NHS Direct operators will take details about your query then assign a member of their clinical team to call you back and discuss your query in more detail.  If your request is not urgent, you could consider using the NHS Direct website.

The ambulance service

If your query is related directly to a life-threatening or emergency situation, you should telephone 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance.

Paramedic Acute Visiting Service (PAVS)

GP practices can request a Paramedic to visit a patient (aged 65 years and over) at home, in place of a GP home visit. The key objective is to reduce avoidable hospital admissions by providing a timely response to patients requiring a visit, and ensuring patients are cared for at home if appropriate. A patient that requests a home visit might referred to PAVS. For more information, click here.
